A-Brazo was founded after the earthquakes that shook El Salvador in 2001. Almost exactly one month apart, the earthquakes damaged or destroyed approximately 190,000 homes. Hilda and Raúl Bojórquez had worked with World Relief on building projects after the 1986 earthquake and when they saw the needs around them, they decided to found A-Brazo.
To date A-Brazo has worked in 30 different communities within El Salvador constructing temporary and permanent homes, churches, schools, and water tanks.
